1992 National Junior Men Coach’s Report

The below material is my report when I was Australia’s National Junior Head-coach taking the team to the world championships in Cairo, Egypt-1992. It was the beginning of a long period of my work with the Australian Junior and Senior men squads.
We did not have the National Intensive Training Centres then and there were not many professional coaches to prepare skilful athletes for the National squad. As it was, I had to teach our players the basics of passing and shooting properly on the go, let alone some sophisticated tactics.
Even though it was difficult for all participants, I beleieve, everyone enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot. Subsequently, many have become good coaches, referees and sport’s administrators.
The below material is the first of several to be published. I believe that today’s coaches can find here useful information for their work, in particular, with young water polo players.
If, however, you find reading it boring, you may still like the photograph.
